ABOUT
DIRECTORS Michelle Weber Michele has dedicated her career to the study of learning how to teach language. She is a creative, popular teacher and an effective, disciplined administrator. A student, herself, she is currently enrolled part-time in a Masters of Education at the University of Toronto where she is expanding her knowledge of language learning and teaching. She has learned how to speak French and German and is currently learning Mandarin.
Rina Di Mito A graduate of Brock University in the Bachelor of Education program, Rina has been teaching for many years. Her teaching experience is diverse in level and location and her expertise lies in designing and delivering challenging and imaginative classes to her students. Her business background and organizational abilities make her a talented administrator. A language student,herself, she has learned Italian, French and is currently learning Spanish.
TEACHERS Our teachers have been chosen for their professionalism, their commitment to the field of language learning, their creativity and their ability to provide classes that are tailored to the needs of international students.
STUDENTS Students come to Jigsaw from all over the world. At home they are professionals or students. At Jigsaw, they are English language learners. We ensure that all classes are well balanced in terms of first language so that students are always practicing their English. Students should be 17 years of age or older.
FACILITIES Our classrooms are attractive, spacious and professional. They are located in a well- maintained, medium-sized office building in downtown Toronto at a major subway station. The décor is warm and inviting. All the classrooms are seminar size so you can expect small class sizes and lots of personal attention. The school is air conditioned in the summer and well heated in the winter. Student Lounge At Jigsaw, the student lounge is equipped with a student information centre where students will find daily newspapers, magazines and journals to help them keep in touch with the world around them.
RESOURCES Good resources are important for effective learning to take place. All materials necessary for study while at Jigsaw are provided by the school. Textbooks Our textbooks have been carefully selected and all teaching materials and methods are current. Students are welcome to borrow textbooks for study in the school or arrangements can be made for study at home.
