Manipal Global Education Services recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Deakin University, Australia. Both the leading education providers will be coming together to set up a Data Science and Cybersecurity Centre of Excellence in India. As the name implies, the centre will serve as a world-class knowledge house of data science and related subjects. The MOU was signed between A P Ramabhadran, Senior Vice President, Manipal Global Education Services and Professor Jane den Hollander AO, President and Vice-Chancellor of Deakin University.
Manipal Global has also been collaborating with Deakin University to organise several seminars and workshops related to data science and cybersecurity. One such event was conducted on April 12, 2017. The workshop titled ‘Securing Digital India – Best Practices in Cybersecurity’ was presented by Matthew Warren, Professor of Cybersecurity at Deakin University. He spoke about the need for cybersecurity, its impact and also touched upon some of the biggest data breaches that shocked the world. He also spoke about the growing need for IT professionals who are adept at dealing with cybersecurity threats and issues.
