PROGRAM STRUCTURE

The curriculum is based on the 5i Framework which covers all the key stages of a product’s life cycle i.e. IDEATE, INNOVATE, IMPLEMENT, INDUSTRIALIZE, and IMPROVE. The Online Live Instructor-Led training program comprises 180 hours of training along with Projects, Case Studies, Industry Sessions with Product Experts, and Batch Immersion and can be accessed from anywhere in India or the world.

180 hours is divided across 9 modules (that is in turn divided into 3 terms), and can be completed in 6 months with 4.5 hours of instructor-led sessions on weekends (Saturday + Sunday) and self-study with Project work on weekdays.

INDUSTRY PROJECTS

The Postgraduate Certificate Program in Product Management not only focuses on concept building exercises and assignments but also includes hands-on practice and application with the help of case studies. These case studies are real-world scenarios that have been adapted in the course looking at the current scenario of the industries to trigger ideation and adoption of successful processes to launch successful-looking products. 

BYOP: Bring Your Own Product – Capstone Project

The job role of Product Managers spans across a wide range of profiles with different focus areas, depending on the product they are responsible for and the industry they operate in. It could be closer to that of a ‘Technologist’ if the focus area is on building innovative technology solutions. Or it could be more of a ‘Generalist’ role that requires the person to have technical depth at the same time, be business savvy if the focus area is on B2C products. And finally, the job role of a Product Manager could also be completely business-oriented where she/he needs to maximize specific business metrics. Because of this diverse range of possible roles, it is imperative to personalize the application of the learnings from the curriculum for each learner. In order to do this, each learner will choose a target ‘Product’ to be used as a common persistent theme for various activities and assignments during the program.

By applying the learnings from all modules in the curriculum to the target ‘Product’, learners will gain a realistic and holistic exposure to the life of a Product Manager, customized to his/her area of focus. In addition to this, students will be expected to bring a product idea into the class. This product idea will be used by the student to practice all the concepts that they learn during classroom sessions. E.g. to conduct a market survey, or to conduct a competition analysis, etc with the guidance of our faculty.

The Product idea can be one of the three types mentioned below:

1. Software Products

E-Learning platform for K12 education: The product will comprise a client-side and a server-side application. It will help schools connect with students to provide online learning opportunities.

State-level hospital information system: This product will primarily be used by state governments to enable real-time monitoring of the functioning and usage of hospitals for both private and public sectors.

New age email client for work: An AI-based email client that provides an integrated approach to productivity for working professionals. This product will not only help a professional be more productive but will also assist in planning the day better and fruitful.

2. Consumer Devices

Smartphone for the rural market: A smartphone that is competitively priced and supports the need of users from rural areas.

Dumb-to-Smart: A device that converts any obsolete TV to a smart TV, intuitive enough to be used by people from all age groups. It will be capable of accessing the internet and popular apps like Netflix, Amazon, etc.

The room projector: An LED-based projector that can be used to project laptop/mobile-device screens onto a wall (in a home environment).

3. Service as a Product

Home Alone: A service that guarantees care for the elderly who are self-reliant and living by themselves.

The Granny: A service that targets expecting mothers. It will support the expecting mother through the pregnancy until a year after delivery. Needed for nuclear families who do not have the advantage of elders living with them. Enabled by home diagnostic equipment.

Tuition Master: An AI-powered service that allows children to have additional tutoring in classes 9, 10, 11 and 12

 Professionals with proficient Product management skills have growth opportunities in different sectors like IT/ITES, E-commerce, Retail, Consumer Goods, Healthcare, Travel & Hospitality, Banking & Insurance, EdTech, Consumer Goods and Fintech (including Payment gateways), to name but a few.

The Postgraduate Certificate Program in Product Management has the following eligibility criteria:

This is an Online Live Instructor-Led training program of 180 hours divided across 9 modules into 3 Terms, which you can complete in 6 months, with 6 to 9 hours of instructor-led sessions on weekends (Saturday + Sunday) and self-study with project work on weekdays.

The application fees and payments are non-refundable. In case of extenuating circumstances, a transfer to the next batch is possible however a batch change fee will be applicable. This transfer will be approved in genuine cases only.

Yes, you need your own laptop. The technology requirement shall be shared at the time of enrolment.

After the successful completion of the course, the candidate will be awarded a joint certificate from IIM Indore and Jigsaw Academy.

Yes, part of the online classes would be taught by the expert faculty from IIM Indore.

All the requisite learning materials will be provided online through the Learning Management System. You are free to purchase any reference books or material as may be recommended by the faculty.

The learning material i.e. lectures and reading content would be available to you for 12 months after the course ends (in addition to the course duration which is 10-11 months).
