What can you do to Ensure Net Neutrality?
Of late there has been an uproar across the country about Net Neutrality. As the debate rages on, we at Jigsaw want to boldly clarify that we support complete Net Neutrality. As an online analytics training company, our courses are accessible to people anywhere with an internet connection, whether in a city or in a remote town or village. As such it is imperative that no matter where our students are, or whatever their internet plan, they are able to access our video-based courses without any impediments.
So, we would like to muster support from each and every one of you. We want you to lend your voice to supporting net neutrality.
Let’s first understand what Net Neutrality means?
Telecom operators/ISPs are access services providers. They can control how much internet you access, what you access, how fast you access and how much you pay to access content and services on the Internet.
Net neutrality implies that any access be neutral, meaning:
- All sites must be equally accessible
- The same access speed at the telco/ISP level for each (independent of telco selection)
- The same data cost for access to each site (per KB/MB)
So what can you do to lend your support? Firstly , you can log on to http://www.savetheinternet.in/ and send in your views and an email to TRAI. Parallelly you can contact your local MP’s, write open letters, be active on social media, and have conversations with people you know …basically just spread awareness of why net neutrality is important. Make a noise and together let’s make sure we are heard.
Out internet. Our right. Let’s take charge.
